You Oughta Know

My friend Damien at Riley Central recently celebrated his 38th birthday and started thinking about all of the things he learned so far during his lifetime. Hmmmm...I think something similar happened to me this year! Must be the planetary lineups or something, I don't know.

Damien was kind enough to tag me to see just what I’ve learned (and do know) in my more than 38 years of life. I actually know a lot more than this, but he only asked for a list of eight :)

I’ve learned:

That not everyone is going to like me and that’s fine. Believe me, I don’t like everyone either.

To never put more effort into the wrapping paper than I have given to choosing the gift itself.

That the middle of the road is a perfectly acceptable place to be. I’m always there until I see both sides of the street and figure out which one has the better view.

That there is some level of truth to every rumor. It wouldn’t be believable or worth repeating otherwise.

To trust my gut. Instinct is there for a reason.

That it is possible to do and be good at many things at the same time. I don’t have to wait for one door to close to find another one that’s open.

That a sense of humor will get me through anything. So laugh! Cause life's music is funny!

That as naughty as The Happy Bunny is, he sure does have it right sometimes!

I'm not going to tage anybody because going through the "already tagged" list, I already see most of the bloggers I know! If you'd like to participate in this meme, just write one and let me know you did! I'd love to read yours!

Very good things to have learned, especially that last one. Through 33 years it has worked for me! And antibiotics, but that's a different story ;-)

I like the laughing one. I went to blockbuster and rented epic movie and night at the museum the other night and just laughed my rear off. So good for me.

Those are good things to have learnt! Some of the things sound like they would have interesting stories behind them!! =)

I think you're right about the dippin' dots losing flavor after a bit! That's crazy how much it costs at Six Flags ... even crazier that you paid it ;)

Oooh. The middle of the road is definitely the best place to hang out until figuring out what the truth is in all of those rumors, eh? ;)

Ya... it would probably be easier to just buy the box of pancake mix myself.

Haha - my baby is laying on the floor about six feet away from me making faces at me!! He's becoming so interactive! It's FUN!!

Fortunately, your sense of humor is very healthy...and it makes my day. You've given me an idea for a post, too I think. You do that. You are an inspiration.

Looking at your list where you say there is some level of truth to every rumor, just made me remember something, oh well, just another thing to blog.

So true about #1, you could go crazy trying to make everyone like you, what for? Then you just have to get them a present sometime..

In all seriousness, good list!

#1 is a good (but sometimes hard) lesson to learn.
