Creep

Get out your checkbooks, people! Drew Peterson needs your help (and dollars!) and has set up a website hoping you'll contribute to his defense fund! He will also be using the donated funds to hire private investigators to find out what really happened to his missing wife, Stacy Peterson.

I’m being sarcastic, of course. Please don’t give him any of your hard earned money.

I certainly hope he doesn’t hire the same investigators that OJ did. Thirteen years later, they still haven’t been able to find the real killer!

Have you been following this story? It’s kind of hard not to...it’s everywhere!

Let me just say this. If Drew Peterson is innocent, I will kiss a cotton ball and you all know how I feel about those things.

His site says that media sensationalism is creating hardship for Drew and his four dependent children and the “collateral damage is never-ending”. Perhaps Drew should consider keeping his mouth shut and not saying things to reporters that reveal his sociopathic personality like “I think it’s going to be hard to get a date after this” and they might go away for a while.

(Ya think, Drew? On second thought, keep talking and hopefully, the American public won’t have to worry about who you date/stalk/marry/kill any longer because you’ll be in prison.)

Two of his children belong to Kathleen Savio, his third wife, whose accidental bathtub drowning has now been classified as a homicide. They were adopted by his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, who has now vanished off the face of the earth. The man has children whose lives have been turned upside-down under horrific circumstances TWICE and he’s out mugging for the cameras complaining about hard hard it will be to date in the future!

I would say unbelievable, but really, he is so arrogant that this doesn’t surprise me.

I’m sure in his narcissistic world, he thinks he’s all charming by saying such things. I think of his poor children and I feel nauseous. He makes my skin crawl. I can’t believe anyone would give him money.

His lawyer was on TV yesterday saying they got over a million hits to the website, but wouldn’t comment on how much money was donated.

I hope nothing! GEEZ!

I'm totally lost. Who is Drew Peterson? I think I should watch the news a lot more.

well said. just a couple of things to add...

Every person who pays taxes in Illinois has already contributed to his legal defense. It's at the courthouse -- the Public Defender.

Is it a legal dream team? Obviously not. But why does he deserve more than any other American?

The media sensationalizing the case? Please -- his own attorney actually said on CNN the other night that he has tried to reign in his client, but he just hasn't been successful. Seriously? What kind of lawyer can't reign in his client? It's not *that* difficult.

Finally, his lovely attorney (who was almost disbarred for forgery not long ago), Joel Brodsky, told Matt Lauer that he took the case for the "challenge." Taking a losing case to get your name some free publicity -- not a challenge. The real challenge is this, charge him the minimum costs (support staff, experts, filings) and do the rest of the work pro bono.

jenny: he's a cop from a Chicago suburb whose 23 year old wife has gone missing. This is his 4th wife and they just ruled that his 3rd wife's death was a homicide. It's really an interesting, albeit terribly sad, story.

anonymous: well said to you, too! I've heard they took down the website after receiving the amount in donations they were seeking. I can't believe that.

Since I know you are schooled in law enforcement and an avid reader, I take more interest in your take on these Peterson types!
