Hip To Be Square

My friend Shelly over at This Eclectic Life not only has a gold mine of a blog, she truly has a heart of gold, too. She is determined to give an afghan to each child attending next year’s summer camp at Camp Sanguinity in Texas.

This camp allows children being treated for cancer and blood disorders to have a true summer camp experience.

Her goal is to assemble 140 afghans and to do that she only needs 6,720 5 1/2 crocheted squares! She is looking for people with equally big hearts to crochet a square for her so that each afghan will be put together with the squares and good wishes from at least thirty different people.

I have absolutely no idea how to crochet or I would definitely send Shelly many, many squares!! I figured I can still help her out by asking my readers who do crochet (or know someone that does!) to hop on over to Shelly’s post. There you will find out everything you need to know to help.

Remember,it’s totally hip to be square!

I tried to send a comment, but I think I goofed up the little magic letters. If you get two of these, you can delete one! I love you and you are one totally cool Rock Chick. Thank you, Sister for helping me publicize.

Aww. That is such a great idea. I wish I knew how to crochet. My father is a brain cancer survivor; I hope thousands of these children are inspired by the project!

That's a wonderful thing to do for all of those kids. I'm not a crocheter, but I wish her luck assembling the afghans. And I wish the kids a load of fun once they get to camp!
