Twist and Shout

It seems I have let down my oldest (actually youngest, I think) blogging buddy, Jessica Morris! Jessica is on bed rest for a short time after a pregnancy related procedure.

Having done the pregnancy related bed rest thing myself, I know just how booooring it can get. Poor Jessica has little to do except blog hop and I haven’t posted anything in the last couple of days.

I’ve been frazzled and busy and when the two are combined, my creativity is always the first thing that suffers.

Jessica always posts cute pics of her baby boy. Even though we’ve never met, we share a name and she thinks of me in Target stores when she sees Bon Jovi t-shirts, so in honor of her, I thought I’d post a video of my “baby” boy. (who, is not really a baby anymore) Jessica, see what you have to look forward to?

This is a video clip of my son, Danny (“D”) at a wrestling match yesterday afternoon. Personally, I can’t understand why anyone would want to do this, but he likes it and when it gets too rough, I just close my eyes. This didn’t look like it was going to go well for D, but he’s very twisty and ended up at the end with a beautiful pin and won! Check it out! My son is the one in all blue.

As twisty as my son is, my baby daughter, Erica, can shout like nobody’s business. She is usually the loudest during the cheers and the one flying the highest during the stunts. Just in case baby #2 for Jessica is a little girl, here’s an insight into what she can expect in a few years. My daughter is the “flyer” on the right. Shake it up, baby!

And just in case Jessica decides to have even more baby girls (like my little competition cheer squad demons here), she can look forward to freezing her butt off on metal bleachers at football games! Even though I hate cold, my daughters attend the same high school that my hubby and I both graduated from, so it is kind of exciting for me to see them doing some of the same cheers that I remember from way back when. Famous Demon alumni include Senator Hillary Clinton, actor Harrison Ford, actress Karen Black, actress Carrie Snodgress and actress Jami Gertz... just to name a few.

Here’s Samantha. She’s the blonde on the left.

And my oldest, Ariana. She is the dark haired one in the center.

In addition to what you’ve just seen, Ariana sings with the school’s top choir, the Chamber Choir, and also has a part time job. Samantha plays four instruments in “I don’t even know how many” bands. I keep losing count. (I think it’s 5). Erica is Class President, performs in the Swing Choir and plays Volleyball and Danny, my future WWF champion, also is on the soccer and volleyball teams and plays the guitar. (Acoustic and Guitar Hero 3!)

Even though it’s busy and if I’m not at work, I’m pretty much in the minivan, I wouldn’t change one twisty, shouty minute of it.

I don’t think they would either!

Trust me, Jessica, rest while you can :)

AWWWWWW! You are so awesome :) I watched all of your kids videos (because I have nothing interrupting my time!!)
I grew up in Toronto and cheerleading is not a big thing there at all... if not non-existent. I find it fascinating :)
Your post made me smile and brightened up a rather dull day :)

crystal: thank you! Yes, we found each other thru Jessica! I love when that happens :)

Jessica: awwwwwww, thank you! I wanted to give you a little surprise :) Competition Cheerleading is really picking up speed in this area. From what I understand, it's always been much more popular in the south. I'm sure if you have a little girl, you'll be having some rah-rah videos in no time :)
