I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

The only good things about Fall, in my opinion, is Halloween and new TV shows.

Last night, the family huddled up in front of the big screen to catch the premiere of one of my personal faves, CSI:Miami. In the grand scheme of TV shows, it’s really not that great of a show, but it does have a couple of things going for it.

That show, in high definition, is gorgeous. The colors are amazing.

Horatio. I love him, but Little Daughter loves him more. She does a perfect imitation of him and it cracks me up. No one has been waiting for the new season like Little Daughter and last night, when Horatio posed, sunglassed up and said his first cheesy line of the 2007-2008 television season, Little Daughter actually clapped and squealed in delight!

The hubby thinks the show is well, ridiculous, and he makes these faces every time they use their state of the art technology lab or interrogate someone. Hubby’s faces only add to the amusement of the program for me. I think he can only stand it for the entire hour because the girls on the CSI squad wear the lowest cut tops and the highest heels you’ve ever seen. Just a guess :)

I don’t know if you saw the premiere last night, but now one of the “bad guys” in the program turned out to be Horatio’s son. I’m still not quite sure why he thought that, I might have been distracted by an impression or something, but Horatio saved his life by calling off the Coast Guard’s “shoot to kill” order.

I think they should have ended the show by having Horatio put his sunglasses on while jumping out of a helicopter into the boat his new found son was driving trying to escape the coast guard. That would have beat a scene from last year’s season where Horatio drove a car with a bomb ticking away to some remote area and oh-so calmly exited the vehicle. As he walked away, the car exploded like a disco inferno just as he put his sunglasses on and he didn’t even flinch. He just kept walking and said “Burn, Baby, Burn”. It was awesome! I think I watched that scene about 40 times.

This week is sure to be a good one TV-wise! I’m looking forward to the premieres of some of my other personal faves...NCIS, Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy and Numb3rs, too!!

How about you guys? What shows are you most looking forward to seeing this season?

what about private practice? that will be a good one too!

for me it's grey's, housewives, private practice, and the bachelor (who isn't all that hot this season)!

I call Horatio's poses "the Sears catalog men's section poses." It always looks like he's posing for the camera to be put in a men's catalog. And I like to watch CSI Miami because that blond girl on there never smiles. It's like her face is going to crack and fall off if she smiles, she has zero personality. That's funny to watch too.

Lovely Wife has her yearly fall TV chart made up and has a system more complex than stuff I learned in Linear Algebra in college to tape shows on the DVR and watch.

I like geek TV myself. Astronomy and physics shows on the science channel and stuff on the history channel.

I'll watch an occasional episode of Bones with Lovely Wife, I like Monk, Psych, Battlestar Gallactica, and that's all I can think of now.

When her shows come on, that's when I go to my computer and start working on scanning my slides and negatives and working with my digital photos.

Yeah. I'm really that boring.

We get three very fuzzy channels on our tv... so not much tv watching is done here! When the hubby is gone long days or overnights I will watch it - last night I watched The Bachelor.
I am very much looking forward to watching The Price is Right with Drew Carrey - I think it airs Oct 8 or somewhere around there... want to see how that goes for sure!

Well some of mine have started and some won't start until mid season: Heroes, Lost, Cold Case, CSI:Miami, CSI (original), Jericho, Amazing Race

I have to agree with your hubby on this one. I love CSI: LV but find Miami just too silly - especially the dialog (too campy)

As for the fall show I want to watch, only Heroes comes to mind and that may be better on DVD so you can follow the stories better.

I personally can't stand the guy who plays Horatio, so won't watch any show he's on...he just rubs me the wrong way. However, I absolutely love every single clip that "The Soup" will play of him when they're making fun of the show, so I look forward to new episodes just for those clips! haha

My shows would be Heroes (top of the list), Prison Break, Ugly Betty, Grey's, and whatever new shows catch my fancy this year. I'm looking forward to Bionic Woman, hope it lives up to the hype.

i love csi:miami, csi, criminal minds and numb3rs. however, was a little disappointed with the csi:miami premiere this week. horatio just has the cheesiest one liners and camera angles but that goes with his character. i read in rolling stones magazine that he is considered one of the worse actors on a tv series because of his cheesiness.

Love all your choices, especially Numbers (appeals to the geek in me1). And of course all the CSI's. Unfortunately we are a year or so behind the US, so I can't chat about storylines. But yes, it's one of the few things that I like about the fall!!

OH! how can you not like fall?!?! It's my favorite season, and we don't get it where I live! (louisiana) I can't watch CSI or any show where someone dies and you spend an hour finding out ho horrific their final minutes were. shudder. We were angry to miss the Heroes premiere which was bumped to show the Saints game. Grr... they will reair on Sat - but we may just watch it online!

I like Horatio, but wife can't stand him. We are very into the Vegas one. Do you watch that one? With the miniatures killer? I'm on the edge of my seat!
