With A Little Help From My Friends

Yes, Blogathon 2007 has officially come and gone. After this final post about it, The Rock Chick will be returning to her regularly scheduled rants.

Did I survive? Well, I made it through 21 1/2 hours and 81 total posts, including the trivia games.

It’s not 24, but I think I did pretty darn well. Up until 4:00 AM, I really thought I’d make it the entire time. (I think my wonderful monitor Tina did, too!) Once the Green M&M character on my coffee mug started swaying and whispering things like “you’re getting very sleepy”, though, I started to landslide very quickly. Those middle of the night hours were a lot tougher than I thought they would be!

I certainly didn’t make it as far as I did on my own. I had some help from my friends with wonderful guest blog entries from (in order of appearance) Damien Riley, The Big Bahuna, Shelly, Michael C, missmeliss, Janie Hickok Siess,Jessica Morris , and JAM, who, at like 2:00 AM, even sent me another guest post to use. I told you, I was fading fast :) Thanks so much to all of you!

If you’ve never been to any of the above listed blogs, go! They are quite a group of talented, interesting writers and good people, that’s for sure :)

Thanks to everyone who visited often and played games with me, too! You really kept me going! My raffle prize winners are: are: Jessica Morris, Teamouse, Malcolm, jeanjeannie, sparky duck, Shelly, Michael C, Janie Hickok Siess, JAM, missmeliss and Damien. If you haven’t already sent me your mailing addresses, please do so I can send your goodie!

Would I do Blogathon again? YES! With some changes, though. Overall, the things I had planned went very well. I was so busy planning, scheduling and organizing, though, that I didn’t write any of my posts ahead of time. Big mistake! 30 minutes is not a long time to think of a topic and produce a post with some quality to it, much less try to think about what to do with the next 30 minute time frame. I also probably wouldn't go rock chicking the night before again, either :)

Live and learn. Next year will be no problem!

You did great with the blogathon - I was impressed with how long you lasted, especially since there wasn't a whole lot of company during the middle of the night - how depressing!!

The Rock Chick rocked the blogathon!!

Hey, I'm proud of you anyway! You went longer than some people could have.

thanks Jessica!

Tina: Thank you!!! You did a super job, too! Your encouragement really helped throughout the event!

The only way I could do a blogathon would be if my mom watched the kids and wifey was out at a girly sleepover or something. I enjoyed it vicariously through you though!!! Thanks again.

Congrats for a job well done, Jessica.

I couldn't figure out where my email was with the donation link, it was sitting in my gmail spam - I wonder how many more are.
