A Wink And A Smile

As you know, several months and a few frightening dental visits ago, I had to have two teeth extracted due to an out of control abscess. While I’m not fond of the dentist, I do like having teeth, a full mouth of them, and missing two, well, just wasn’t doing wonders for my ego.

These pseudo teeth are not exactly inexpensive, so I asked for them as a birthday present and after a few more frightening dental visits, I finally have them! Woo Hoo!!

Real or fake, I am smiling about having a full set of teeth.

I had a bunch of appointments this afternoon, so I asked the hubby if he could go to the drugstore for me and pick up a few things.

My list included a denture toothbrush, my hormone replacement prescription and some hair dye because mine is looking really gray.

I paused, thinking that at 41, I am done with menopause, have gray hair and am wearing dentures. Ok, it’s only two teeth, but still. That doesn’t sound very hot and I’m a Rock Chick, for heaven’s sake.

The hubby then confirmed my suspicions. He said “OK, Grandma!”

After I buried his body under the birdbath, I decided to blow off the rest of my appointments and get some professionally done highlights and a pedicure.

I’m just kidding, of course. I really didn’t blow off other appointments to get my hair or nails done :)

Kendra: I do deserve it, but today just wasn't the day! Soon, though :)

"Buried him under the birdbath" ...alive, I hope. He deserves to suffer for that ill timed remark! LOL.

Thorne: Yes, I dug him up and he promised to take me out to dinner to make up for the comment. That is, after I can figure out exactly how to eat with my new teeth :) You'd thinki you'd just stick them in and smile, but no, not so easy :)

Very clever. I am 44 and can relate to "subtle" changes assaulting me every day.

I need a fake tooth put in too and I am only 21. It could be worse.

My wife is so cool about not calling me old. She's 8 years younger so you'd think she has more of a reason to nudge me. But the other day We were on the couch and she said to me: "Honey, it's time to shave your head you have wings." . . . Is there any room next to your hubby's birdplot?

Damien: Well, my hubby is a year older than I am and I always tease him about being "folically challenged" so I guess it was time he got in a "zinger" :)

There's always more room under the birdbath, no worries, my friend :)

Grandma should of chased him all around the home saying, "Come here Sunny, let me give you a big, wet smooch!" LOL!

You need to have a day of pampering AND a night to remember... ;o)

Oh, honey. I don't have the dentures yet, but I am so feeling for you. I have my Dad's chest and my mother's mustache.
Go pamper yourself before that charity blogging event! You are going to need to be feeling at your best.
If you weren't only kidding about that birdbath burial, I'll send a cake with a file in it to your cell...
